great read, its surprising how many programmers start off in basically the same way, though your experience with the commodore is a bit surprising. I think everyone starts out dabbling and eventually evolves into something much more i know thats how it started at first with me with dabbling in Qbasic and moving upward to where im eventually now doing C# programming, wow im getting old.
